Thank you so much for releasing this!!! I just wanted to share a couple of things I ran across updating the LCD firmware on my Ender 3 V2.

On step 2, I had to add a folder called DWIN_SET in my SD card and extract the files into that folder in order for the LCD to get to that orange screen described in the directions on step 6. Without that DWIN_SET folder, my LCD would not recognize I was trying to do an update and would just boot up as if nothing was on the SD card.

Even after that orange screen was on for 30 seconds, when I booted the LCD back up, I never saw what is described in step 8 (Marlin and TH3D logos).

I went ahead and proceeded as described with the printer board directions and once the printer booted up, I checked the Info section and confirmed that the firmware installed (Firmware version TH3D UFW 2.00).

I hope this helps others that may run into the same situation. Again, thanks for releasing this. Next up, installing EZABL Pro on this machine :)

    Hi There,

I have an Ender 3 v2 printer and installed the Unified 2 firmware :-) I installed the latest production version  and the beta version but I still have the following problemen. When the printer is on and I put in a SD card nothing is happening. The printer is not reading the card and there is no option in the menu to reread the card. I have to turn off the printer and back on again to reread the card and see its contens. Is there an option in the firmware that will turn on auto read when you put in a SD card ?

    Cheers,

    Michael

I could not get the firmware updated on my Ender 3 V2 display. I tried everything that was mentioned, including resoldering the SD socket on the back of the display board. I also tried multiple SD cards formatted Fat32. Finally, after a lot of research I found a post that mentioned that the SD card allocation size should be set to 4096 (4K) when formatted. I tried that, put the DWIN_SET folder on it and bingo everything updated fine. If you are having trouble getting your display firmware updated try formatting the SD card with an allocation size of 4K.

Marlen Akerson thanks for that. I've updated the installation notes to specify that.

Im trying to install the LCD firmware, i used one of your TH3D 4GB cards formatted FAT32, I got the orange screen coming up and waited. Then I took the card out and restarted it. No change of logo or anything. Read about allocation size and can't seem to figure out what that means. Can you point me in the right direction to a video or something to help me set that on a MAC.

When you format the SD card, make sure you use FAT32 with 4096 bytes for the Allocation units.. I believe that it defaults to 8192 bytes.  I had the same issue when I used defaults.  If it is working you will see blue for quite a while (more than just a quick flash) before going to orange..

setting it to 4096 should be in the format menu on the mac too..(guessing.. don't have a mac)
